If the discipline chair decides that you are going to be fined, you will receive a “Notice of Discipline” and a fine amount on the summary page attached to your cheque.

  • This will outline when and how much you were fined.

If the discipline chair decides that you are going to be suspended, you will receive a “Notice of Discipline” via mail and / or email.

  • This form will outline when and why you were suspended, the duration of your suspension and any other fines that may have occurred leading up or resulting in your suspension.

If you feel there are extenuating circumstances that the SRA Executive should know about and you want to appeal the decision of the discipline chair and the SRA Executive, there are a few things you can do:

  • You must fill out an “Appeal Form” and return it to the address on the form/letter within 10 days of when you receive a “Notice of Discipline”.
    • A PDF version of the "Appeal Form" can be found Here
    • A MS Word version of the "Appeal Form" can be found Here
  • When the discipline committee receives your appeal, they will investigate and review the original decision as well as consider any new information that you have provided.
    • The discipline committee will then decide on whether or not the appeal is valid and also make a decision to:
      1. Leave the fine in place
      1. Reduce the fine or suspension
      1. Eliminate the fine or suspension
  • When this decision is made you will be notified via mail and/or email.

THE APPEAL DECISION IS FINAL

All disciplinary actions are levied without prejudice.
