For many of you, being a referee and understanding the responsibilities that go with it is not new. However, for those of you that are new to refereeing, this is a reminder that being a referee is a job. Like any job, refereeing comes with benefits, but it also has certain responsibilities.
Position Title: Saskatoon Referee Association Hockey Official
Employer: Saskatoon Referees Association
Responsibilities:

Responsible for all hockey games assigned to you.

To find a replacement when you are unable to work your scheduled game(s) and to ensure that a qualified official covers all games.

To ensure the assignor is made aware of any and all changes.

To ensure your hockey game(s) start on time.

All members are expected to follow and uphold the Hockey Canada Officiating Program’s (HCOP’s) Official’s Code of Ethics as well as the SRA constitution and bylaws.

Each member of the Association is responsible for carrying out his/her duties and assignments in a manner that will gain respect for both officials and officiating.

To attend the SRA meeting on the third Monday of each month.

Qualifications:

Member of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association (SHA) Referee's Division

Attended a SHA Officials Clinic
-
Member of the Saskatoon Referees Association (SRA)

Attend all SRA Association Meetings
